Institute of Anthropology

The Institute of Anthropology (IAUP) aims to promote the researach, understanding and appreciation of culture, society, and cultural diversity through anthropological research, education, and public engagement. The primary goals of IAUP are advancing anthropological research, fostering scientific collaboration with local and international institutions, promoting the values of anthropology as a science, knowledge field, and profession, and providing expertise in the documentation, restoration, and preservation of cultural heritage.

The objectives of IAUP are:
•    To advance scientific research in the field of comprehensive anthropology (cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, archaeology, and biological anthropology, including cultural heritage).
•    To enhance the infrastructure for carrying out research projects to provide efficient services in the field of anthropology and cultural heritage.
•    To increase scientific and professional collaboration with research institutions, both local and international, within and outside Kosova.
•    To create and intensify cooperation with state institutions, the public sector, the non-governmental sector (NGOs), and the private sector on issues of applied anthropology and cultural heritage.
•    To create a forum for academic discussion/debate on anthropology.
•    To promote the values of anthropology as a science, knowledge field, and profession.
•    To offer research, analysis, and interpretation for public policy for local, national, and international decision-makers.
•    To provide expertise in the documentation, restoration, and conservation of cultural heritage.
